The Lower Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary protects one of the most wildlife-rich floodplains in Sabah, where river cruises can reveal orangutans, proboscis monkeys, hornbills, saltwater crocodiles, and Bornean pygmy elephants in a single trip. It is one of the best soft-adventure wildlife destinations in Borneo because sightings are concentrated along oxbow lakes, riverbanks, and fragmented riverine forest accessible by boat.
