
Simien Mountains National Park is one of Africa's great mountain landscapes, famous for sheer escarpments, huge vistas, gelada troops, and the endemic Walia ibex in a spectacular high-altitude setting. It is strongest for travelers who want iconic mountain scenery and distinctive endemic mammals, but current practical travel risk makes it much less forgiving than its beauty alone would suggest.
