Birding

Sinharaja Forest Reserve is Sri Lanka's flagship lowland rainforest birding destination, famous for mixed-species bird flocks, Sri Lanka blue magpie, red-faced malkoha, green-billed coucal, endemic laughingthrushes, purple-faced langurs, reptiles, amphibians, and dense wet-zone forest atmosphere. It is strongest for birdwatchers and naturalists who want Sri Lankan endemics rather than open safari-style mammal viewing.
