Wrangel Island Nature Reserve is one of the planet's great Arctic wildlife strongholds, famous for polar bears, walrus haul-outs, seabird cliffs, musk oxen, and an extraordinary high-Arctic sense of scale. It is strongest for true expedition travelers and photographers, but current Russia travel conditions and the island's extreme remoteness make it effectively unrealistic for ordinary travel.
